About the Role
St. Josephs Health is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist to join our Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) team. This key position provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients experiencing acute behavioral health emergencies. The CPEP psychiatrist plays a vital role in a multidisciplinary team, ensuring timely decision-making and patient stabilization during the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM shift.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform thorough psychiatric assessments for individuals in crisis
Develop and manage treatment plans, including psychopharmacologic intervention and appropriate referrals for continued care
Collaborate closely with emergency medicine physicians, nurses, social workers, and security personnel to deliver coordinated, effective, and safe patient care.
QUALIFICATIONS
Active New York State medical license or eligibility
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
Exceptional interpersonal and diagnostic skills, with the ability to thrive in high-acuity settings
Prior experience in emergency psychiatry or related behavioral health fields is highly desirable
RECRUITMENT PACKAGE
St. Josephs Health offers a comprehensive salary and compensation package that includes:
Salary Range: $290k-$330k commensurate with experience.
The posted salary reflects the starting range of total compensation and does not include productivity bonuses, incentives related to quality and performance, extra shift incentives, and other forms of cash compensation as applicable to the position. In addition, providers typically receive a CME allowance and other benefits offered by their medical group employer. Please note that this salary range is provided in accordance with State law and is subject to variation due to the factors noted above.
