As a 60;Speech Language Pathologist, you will 60;provide diagnosis and treatment for patients with speech-language and/or swallowing disorders resulting from neurogenic or surgical etiologies. Develops 60;appropriate therapy 60;modalities based on severity, 60;determines 60;the best methods, and a point at which therapy can be 60;discontinued. 60;

Pr imary Duties: 60;
Provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to patients with speech, 60;language 60;and/or swallowing disorders, including head-neck cancer patients.
Establishes treatment goals and develops therapeutic programs. Makes determinations as to whether 60;patient 60;may continue eating orally, or if an alternate peripheral nutritional method is 60;required. 60;Provides esophageal voice training, tracheoesophageal voice training, and training in prosthetic devices. 60;Conducts and interprets video fluorography. Conducts invasive tracheoesophageal puncture evaluations. 60;
Summarizes test results and prognostic evidence. Completes progress notes and related documentation in medical records and responds to referral 60;source(s). Maintains statistical data as required by 60;department. Determines 60;appropriate 60;period 60;when therapy can be 60;discontinued 60;based on patient's performance and progress. 60;Arranges 60;for follow-up care as 60;required.
Performs hearing screening as 60;required. Completes all required documentation for patient billing. Participates in interdepartmental 60;rehabilitation 60;team meetings, discharge 60;rounds 60;and family conferences. 60;Presents speech-language 60;in-services 60;to nursing staff, Rehabilitation Department, and medical residents as assigned. 60;Provides 60;guidance to and may serve as a professional resource for graduate students completing a clinical practicum.
Maintains current knowledge of trends and developments in the field by reading 60;appropriate books, 60;journals, 60;and other literature, and by attending related seminars and conferences. 60;

Qualifications:
Master’s degree in 60;Speech-Language 60;Pathology. 60;
1-2 years of progressively 60;more responsible 60;job-related experience. 60;
ASHA - American Speech Language Hearing Association. 60;
SP-L - Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the District of Columbia within 90 Days. 60;
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- 1-2 years of experience
- ASHA certification
