Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA. Current Texas physical therapy license issued by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy & Occupational Therapy Examiners required prior to start. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required. Acute care experience required by the client. New graduates accepted; experience preferred. Knowledge of the American Physical Therapy Association Code of Ethics and the Guide to Physical Therapy Practice. Ability to interpret and carry out physician prescriptions per practice act guidelines. Experience directing and supervising physical therapy assistants, support staff, volunteers, or students preferred.
