Physical Therapist I, Outpatient Rehab

UC Health Network Pueblo County, Colorado, US

About the Role

UCHealth is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist I to join our Outpatient Rehab team within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. As a Colorado-based, nonprofit health care system, UCHealth provides patient-centered care through multiple hospitals and outpatient facilities, and this role plays a key part in helping patients regain function, independence, and quality of life. In this entry-level professional position, you will deliver evidence-based, compassionate physical therapy services to a diverse outpatient population with orthopedic, neurologic, and other musculoskeletal conditions. Working in a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive environment, the Physical Therapist I completes comprehensive evaluations, develops individualized plans of care, and implements therapeutic interventions consistent with current clinical standards and UCHealth guidelines. You will perform detailed patient assessments including range of motion, strength, functional mobility, balance, and pain levels; establish measurable, patient-centered goals; and provide treatments such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, gait training, and use of appropriate modalities. You will educate patients and families about diagnosis, self-management strategies, home exercise programs, and injury prevention to promote long-term success beyond the clinic. This role requires strong clinical reasoning, clear communication, and effective collaboration with physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers, and other rehabilitation professionals to coordinate care. You will document all care in the electronic medical record in a timely, accurate, and legally compliant manner, using outcome measures and functional assessments to track progress and adjust the plan of care as needed. As a Physical Therapist I, you will manage a varied caseload while maintaining high standards of safety, infection prevention, and professional ethics, contributing to UCHealth’s commitment to excellence and continuous improvement in patient care. UCHealth emphasizes professional growth and offers ongoing training, mentorship, and opportunities to participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice. Newer therapists will receive support in developing their clinical skills, time management, and caseload organization, with access to experienced clinicians for guidance and collaboration. You will be encouraged to pursue continuing education, specialty interests, and potential board certifications consistent with your professional goals. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, adaptable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced outpatient environment. You should be comfortable working with patients from diverse backgrounds and ages, committed to cultural humility, and aligned with UCHealth’s values of innovation, diversity, inclusion, and respect. In return, you will join a supportive team environment with competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and the chance to build a meaningful, long-term career improving the health and function of patients across our community.
