About the Role

Marshfield Clinic – Archive is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join the Healthcare & Medical Services department within Marshfield Clinic Health System – Marshfield Children’s. As part of a large, integrated pediatric health system serving children and families across central and northern Wisconsin, you will play a key role in supporting high-quality diagnostic care through accurate and compassionate blood collection. In this role, you will perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws on infants, children, adolescents, and occasionally adults, following established laboratory and infection-control protocols. You will verify patient identity, explain procedures in age-appropriate language, obtain specimens safely and efficiently, label and process samples accurately, and ensure timely transport to the laboratory. You will adhere to all regulatory, safety, and quality standards, including proper PPE use, sharps handling, biohazard waste disposal, and compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies. As a Phlebotomist at Marshfield Children’s, you will contribute to continuous improvement efforts by participating in quality checks, helping troubleshoot specimen issues, and supporting process enhancements that improve turnaround times and patient experience. You may assist with training new staff or students in phlebotomy techniques and workflow, and will be encouraged to pursue ongoing education and skills development. The organization emphasizes integrity, compassion, and teamwork, and supports staff through education, wellness, and work-life balance initiatives. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, compassionate professional who enjoys working with pediatric populations and thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment. You should be comfortable performing frequent blood draws, prioritizing multiple orders, and adapting to varying patient needs and acuity levels. A high school diploma or equivalent and formal phlebotomy training are expected, along with relevant certification or eligibility through a recognized body.
