Pharmacy Technician Trainee

As a Pharmacy Technician Trainee at Giant Eagle, you will begin your career in healthcare by supporting our pharmacists and pharmacy team in a fast-paced supermarket pharmacy setting. Working on-site within our Pharmacy Department, you will learn how to assist in the preparation and processing of prescriptions while delivering friendly, accurate, and timely service to our guests. Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will be trained to enter prescription information, count and package medications, print and apply labels, and maintain accurate records in accordance with company policies, state regulations, and HIPAA requirements. You will help greet and assist customers at the pharmacy counter and over the phone, answer basic questions within your scope, and promptly refer clinical and medication-related inquiries to the pharmacist. As you grow in the role, you will support inventory management by helping to receive, stock, and rotate prescription and over-the-counter products, monitoring expiration dates, and maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant work area. You will learn to operate the point-of-sale system, process third-party insurance claims with guidance, and resolve basic transactional issues while keeping a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
