About the Role
Certified Medical Assistant
As part of our team, our Certified Medical Assistants work closely with our providers and patients to ensure quality and compassionate care. More specifically, our CMA's interview and triage patients, measure vital signs, document all information in patients charts and assist the Providers in exam rooms. Additionally, they maintain logs, keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, handle calls as appropriate, and support the overall patient need(s) as directed. This opportunity is for our Red Bank, NJ location.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patients' charts
- Assist providers in exam rooms; give instructions to patients as instructed by the providers
- Perform certain procedures such as blood draw, EKG, etc.
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required
- Provide feedback and answers to patient/provider/pharmacy calls
- Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, etc.)
- Must be willing to cross-train for patient registration when necessary
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends, be willing to travel to other sites, willing to travel in inclement weather
- Willing to become UDS, BAT, and/or DOT certified and performed related responsibilities
- Maintain all certifications required for the role
- All other duties as assigned by Practice Operations Manager or Practice Administrator
Compensation:
- NJ Sick Time
- 401k through Voya, company match availability after 1 year of service and 1000 hours worked
- 1.5x pay on company recognized holidays
- Hourly range listed below
Requirements:
- Active BLS through AHA
- Certification of successful completion of CMA education program
- Active CMA certification through NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT
- Willing to consider new grads and RMAs
- Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
- Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections
- Ability to maintain professionalism and provide quality, and compassionate care in a fast-paced, public environment
