We have an immediate opening for an OR/PACU Medical Assistant to join our team at Ovation Fertility in Fort Worth, Texas. This role provides the opportunity to grow within a nationally respected organization while remaining closely connected to the patients and teams you support every day.
In this role, the OR/PACU Medical Assistant will:
- Answer phones and schedule appointments
- Prepare patients for treatment, including taking patient history and vitals
- Comfort patients by anticipating patient anxieties and answering questions
- Maintain current inventory of supplies and medications to avoid overstocking and/or running out of supplies, and to keep medication dates current
- Assist physicians in operating room during procedures relating to in-vitro fertilization (IVF)
- Maintain sterile field during operating room set-up and procedures
- Document procedures accurately and completely
- Clean and stock procedure and recovery rooms
- Clean and sterilize instruments daily
- Clean the autoclave weekly
- Maintain medical equipment and arrange for repairs as necessary
- Keep a log of all maintenance and dates of services
- Maintain logs and other records of medical procedures
- Clean/turn over rooms
- Empty red bags and replace them
- Perform patient care functions under the supervision of the physician
- Cross-train in andrology to provide back-up when needed

Qualifications and skills include:
- High school diploma and Medical Assistant certification required
- Completion of a formal medical assistant or scrub tech program, or at least 2 years of applicable work experience
- Experience with procedures and Autoclave is required; OB/GYN and Ultrasound experience is preferred
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
- Knowledge of office procedure and office machines (i.e. computer, fax, copier, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgement on a consistent basis
- Ability to communicate accurately and concisely
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to function as a team player
