Work Shift
education of patients, families and staff as appropriate; communication of patient progress in clinical conference; communication with other team members on a daily basis; preparing equipment orders; contacting vendors for equipment; communication with physicians and other professionals; weekend/holiday services rotation; participation in Performance Improvement /50 coverage in hospital
Takes an active role in servicing patients with immediate needs. Documents productivity in a timely manner.
Follows the established treatment plan and provides treatment according to funding source and regulatory guidelines to meet functional goals; accurately documents, including need for skilled services, patient progression, patient response, and then bills accordingly; Serves as CI/mentor for interns as needed: Provides direct supervision/mentorship, taking direct responsibility for the patient & care provided. Critiques/co-signs documentation daily to be sure it meets regulatory requirements & funding source specifications. Completes weekly, midterm and final evaluations for interns & communicates w/ their school regarding performance.
Participates in hospital and discipline specific skills check: Demonstrates competency through completion of didactic training and testing as well as demonstration of skills specific to their position and skill set as well as skills obtained at Wellstar Roosevelt.
Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy Required
Minimum 1 year of experience in Occupational Therapy as an Assistant Preferred
COTA - Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
