OB Hospitalist Opportunity in Palm Springs, CA: Where There Is Year-Round Sunshine


Responsibilities

Our stable Ob/Gyn Hospitalist practice at Desert Regional Medical Center offers:

  • Real sleep during 24-hour shifts
  • Meaningful MFM integration
  • Reliable 24/7 specialty backup
  • Physician wellness and long-term sustainability

The Role:

  • Two OB/GYN Hospitalists in-house at all times and significant rest during 24-hour shifts
  • Shared overnight coverage model, where physicians alternate responsibilities overnight, making it feasible to obtain about 5 hours of sleep, depending on clinical volume

Program Strengths & Safety Infrastructure:

  • MFM support 24/7 with in-house coverage and participation in morning rounds
  • Dedicated MFM Sonographer on site Monday-Friday
  • Interventional Radiology coverage 24/7
  • In-house trauma surgery support available within about 5 minutes for critical OB emergencies
  • Advanced Perinatology-certified hospital

Program Highlights:

  • Approximately deliveries per month
  • 30-bed Level III NICU(23 weeks and above)
  • In-house anesthesia available 24/7
  • Residents and medical students rotating daily

Benefits and Compensation

Regular full-time is classified as team members who are consistently scheduled and work 30 hours or more on a weekly basis. Regular full-time team members are eligible for the following:

NOTE: Team members at least 21 years old and are active full-time or part-time employee are eligible to participate in our 401(k) Plan at the time of hire. Team Members are eligible to begin participating in the ESPP if they have been employed by Pediatrix for two consecutive months prior to the start of each calendar quarterly offering period and are scheduled to work a minimum of 20 hours per week for five consecutive months during the year.

Paid Sick Leave:

Eligible full-time team members will receive a lump-sum grant of 40 hours or five days, whichever is more beneficial to the team member, of paid sick leave each year on January 1. A newly hired full-time team member will receive a prorated lump-sum grant after working for 90 days. A lumpsum grant will then be provided on January 1 in each subsequent year as long as the team member remains eligible. Unused sick leave granted under this policy does not carry over from one year to the following year.

NOTE: The Company will not pay team members for unused sick leave upon termination of employment.
