Performs other duties as assigned. Area of Responsibility Duties & Responsibilities General Direct Patient Care Assists RN in monitoring vitals and providing direct care of patients. Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials. Responds to patient requests. Provides assistance for activities of patient's daily living. Provides patient's personal hygiene needs. Collects and prepares supplies as determined by procedure and Physicians. Observes patient for unsteadiness or lack of balance and intervenes to provide safe care with patient that is self-ambulating. Maintains effective interdisciplinary communication. Maintains patient's privacy and confidentiality at all times. Adheres to all nursing and hospital wide policies and procedures. Orders medical supplies for the unit based on patient need. Follows the provided Shift Summary sheets. Patient Documentation Completes all documentation including patient observations, elements of care provided, patient responses, and more accurately and thoroughly. Maintains and records patient stability by checking vital signs, allergies, and weight. Reports irregular readings to the appropriate personnel including Registered Nurse or Manager. Admission/Discharge Assists with admissions, discharges and transfers using current handover process. Creates and breaks down medical charts. Properly updates EMR and status boards for department. Qualifications Required Certified as a Nursing Assistant with the State of Washington. AHA BLS certified within 30 days of hire and maintained while employed. Preferred Ability to multitask and work in a team environment. Previous experience in an acute hospital setting. Work Environment and Physical Demands This position is primarily worked in a clinical environment. The position will require the ability to lift, and carry, up to 50 pounds and push or pull over 50 pounds. The position will require bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, reaching overhead, sitting and standing frequently. Occasionally the position requires climbing, kneeling and crawling. The position requires continuous finger dexterity and fine manipulation. All basic life functions such as hearing, seeing, speaking, standing and walking are required. The employee must demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Position Details Hours per week: 36 Employee Status: Regular Full Time Shift: Night Shift (United States of America) Pay Range: $22.00 - $38.50 Actual pay offered will vary based on years of experience.
