New Graduate Radiologic Technologist
Intermountain Health
Murray, Utah, US
About the Role
Intermountain Health is seeking a New Graduate Radiologic Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team, contributing to high-quality diagnostic imaging services across our hospitals and clinics. As a new graduate, you will work under the guidance of experienced technologists, radiologists, and clinical leaders, performing routine and specialized radiologic examinations for patients of all ages. You will prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, verifying patient identity, reviewing medical history and relevant orders, and ensuring appropriate positioning, comfort, and privacy. You will operate radiographic equipment to obtain accurate diagnostic images, following standardized imaging protocols while maintaining strict adherence to radiation safety and ALARA principles. This includes selecting proper technical factors, using protective shielding, and monitoring equipment performance. You will collaborate closely with radiologists and other members of the care team to ensure timely, high-quality image acquisition, assisting with contrast studies and more complex procedures as your competency grows. Your responsibilities will also include evaluating images for technical quality, recognizing and communicating any significant findings or issues, and repeating views when necessary to meet diagnostic standards. You will accurately document exams in the electronic medical record and imaging systems, verify orders, and maintain thorough and compliant records. In alignment with Intermountain Health’s culture of excellence, compassion, and integrity, you will provide safe, respectful, and empathetic care, supporting patients and families throughout their imaging experience and helping to ensure patient safety, satisfaction, and comfort. You will be expected to follow infection control and patient safety protocols, assist with room turnover and equipment cleaning, manage supplies, and contribute to a clean, organized clinical environment. As a new graduate, you will participate in orientation, competency validation, and ongoing training, actively engaging in learning opportunities, feedback, and continuous improvement initiatives. Intermountain Health offers a collaborative, team-based setting with strong preceptor support, access to innovative imaging technologies, and clear pathways for professional growth. You will have opportunities to expand your skills, pursue advanced modalities over time, and take part in quality improvement and patient-centered care projects. This position typically includes rotating shifts, which may involve days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support 24/7 patient care needs. The ideal candidate is a recent graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program who is ARRT-eligible or newly credentialed, committed to high standards of clinical quality, eager to learn, and motivated to contribute to a mission-driven, community-focused health system.
