Network Engineer - Ultra-low Latency Systems

Overview

We’re looking for a Network Infrastructure Engineer to join a world-class engineering environment responsible for building and operating ultra-low latency global infrastructure powering real-time trading and research systems.

This is a highly technical, engineering-led role focused on performance, automation, and large-scale infrastructure ownership. You’ll work within a collaborative team of elite engineers supporting mission-critical environments where reliability, precision, and microseconds matter.

The role offers the opportunity to work across high-performance data centre and WAN infrastructure, combining deep networking expertise with automation, observability, and low-latency optimisation.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, implement, and support ultra-low latency network infrastructure across global environments

• Support and optimise high-performance wired and wireless networking platforms

• Take end-to-end ownership of infrastructure projects from design through to deployment and documentation

• Troubleshoot complex network performance issues including jitter, microbursts, latency, and queuing

• Develop automation and operational tooling using Python, Git, REST APIs, and Ansible

• Enhance infrastructure visibility and monitoring using tools such as Splunk, Grafana, InfluxDB, Kapacitor, and Icinga

• Contribute to network architecture initiatives supporting large-scale global connectivity

• Collaborate closely with engineering and infrastructure teams across a fast-paced technical environment

• Support critical infrastructure within a high-availability, zero-downtime environment

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years’ experience within complex network engineering environments

• Strong understanding of Layer 2–Layer 3 networking principles

• Strong knowledge of:

• TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and Multicast technologies (PIM / IGMP)

• Low-latency networking and network performance optimisation

• High-availability enterprise and data centre networking environments

• Hands-on experience with:

• Arista, Cisco, and/or Mellanox networking technologies

• Python scripting and network automation

• Ansible, Git, REST APIs, and infrastructure automation tooling

• Linux networking and command-line environments

• Monitoring and telemetry platforms such as Splunk, Grafana, Kapacitor, and Icinga

• Experience supporting low-latency or highly available infrastructure environments within finance, trading, HPC, or similar sectors preferred

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams

• CCIE certification or equivalent hands-on expertise beneficial
