Methodist Health System is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist PRN to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team, supporting our mission to improve and save lives with compassion and high-quality care. As a PRN MRI Technologist, you will provide as-needed coverage in a hospital-based imaging environment, working closely with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the clinical team to deliver accurate, timely MRI examinations for a diverse patient population. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and positioning patients for MRI procedures, operating MRI scanners and related equipment, selecting appropriate imaging protocols, and ensuring that all images meet diagnostic-quality standards. You will follow strict safety guidelines for working in the MRI environment, including screening patients and staff for contraindications, managing ferromagnetic risks, and carefully monitoring patients during scans. You will perform IV insertions and administer contrast media as ordered, observing patients for any adverse reactions and communicating promptly with physicians and nursing staff. Using your knowledge of MRI physics and cross-sectional anatomy, you will collaborate with radiologists to optimize image quality and assist in more complex or advanced imaging studies as needed. You will document all procedures accurately in the electronic medical record, maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, and adhere to infection control and quality assurance standards set by Methodist Health System and regulatory bodies. As a PRN member of our imaging department, you will have a flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on department needs, providing coverage during peak volumes, staff absences, and emergent situations.
