Mri Technologist I, Full Time, Night Shift
UC Health Network
Arapahoe County, Colorado, US
About the Role
UCHealth is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented MRI Technologist for our night shift within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. As an MRI Technologist, you will perform high-quality magnetic resonance imaging studies in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment, supporting accurate diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of conditions. Working closely with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the care team, you will review imaging orders, verify patient identity and medical history, screen for contraindications, and explain procedures to help patients feel informed, safe, and comfortable. You will operate and troubleshoot MRI scanners and related equipment, select appropriate imaging protocols, position patients correctly, and ensure optimal image quality while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards for patients, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include monitoring patients during exams, recognizing and responding to changes in patient status, documenting procedures accurately in the electronic health record, and following infection prevention and radiation safety guidelines. You will support contrast administration according to protocol, observe for potential adverse reactions, and collaborate with radiologists to clarify exam requirements and prioritize urgent cases. UCHealth values innovation, diversity, and inclusion, and you will be encouraged to participate in continuous improvement activities, quality assurance initiatives, and ongoing training to maintain current knowledge of MRI techniques, new technologies, and best practices. The role requires consistent professionalism, clear communication, and strong customer service skills when interacting with patients, families, and colleagues. Night shift technologists at UCHealth play a critical role in supporting emergency, inpatient, and urgent outpatient imaging needs, requiring flexibility, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
