Medical Director, Urgent Care
About the Role
Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer of Beth Israel Lahey Health Medical Group, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight for all aspects of urgent care—including clinical services and supervision of Advanced Practice Providers.
Role Overview
Physician leader responsible for clinical quality, operations, and staff development
Ensures high-quality patient care and strong community reputation
Collaborates with leadership; fosters inclusive, high-performing culture
Core Responsibilities
Develop and support medical staff performance and growth
Meet quality, financial, and patient satisfaction goals
Lead department operations, resource allocation, and new initiatives
Support physician recruitment and hiring
Time Allocation
Clinical Time: 80%
Nonclinical Time: 20% dedicated administrative time and supervision of APPs
Reporting: Regular meetings with the leadership team.
Qualifications
MD or DO + Massachusetts medical license
3–5+ years clinical experience with leadership impact
Strong skills in:
Leadership, communication, and collaboration
Data analysis and decision-making
Healthcare systems, quality, and safety metrics
