About the Role

Interacts with patients, families, and staff members to maximize successful patient outcomes./ppMinimum Requirements:/pulliAbility to work with the public./liliAble to handle multiple tasks simultaneously./liliImmunization and injection administration, vision hearing, phlebotomy./liliCertified Medical Assisting degree or appropriate training./liliCMA or RMA certification./li/ulpEssential Job Functions:/pulliGreets and prepares patient for office visit or outpatient procedure./liliObtains vital signs and weighs each patient./liliUpdates problem and medication list at each patient visit./liliAssists in procedures requested by the medical provider./liliPerforms phlebotomy as needed./liliChecks charts routinely for omissions and compliance./liliMaintains sterilization process of all instruments./liliMakes referral and prescription calls per medical providers orders./liliRefilling prescriptions, per protocol and as applicable./liliScreens calls including emergency calls./liliAssures that all necessary release and consent forms are signed./liliPerforms lab testing according to set protocols and maintains yearly competency./liliPerforms look up per protocol on the Maine Prescription Monitoring Program./liliPerforms Medication Prior Authorizations, as needed./liliPrepares electronic charts with all requested information in preparation of patient encounters./liliSchedules patients for procedures in OR and any outpatient test (x-rays, labs, etc), if applicable./liliCommunicate with patients via various communication avenues, including secure messaging./liliParticipates with any department quality indicators./liliResponsible to collect provider quality data as requested./liliCompletes daily, weekly, and monthly checklists with duties to include inventory management, samples management, and other monitors./liliObtains working knowledge of IMMPACT procedures, policies, performance expectations, etc. as needed./liliMaintains compliance with all hospital policies as well as compliance with all State, Federal and CMS policies of licensing and certification./liliResponsible to maintain medical record privacy and security according to hospital policies and procedures at all times./liliDemonstrate a clear understanding of, and commitment to, the hospitals mission, vision and values as well as the service excellence standards while completing all tasks and responsibilities./liliProvides coverage for other DECH/CCH physician offices when necessary./liliSeeks out needed information by staying informed and involved by attending meetings; reading memos, policies, meeting minutes, newsletters, email and other appropriate information in a timely manner./liliUses patient handling techniques as appropriate to the needs of the individual patient in keeping with the Safe Patient and Handling and Movement Policy./liliReliable attendance and punctuality, including observing appropriate break times and extending a scheduled shift when necessary to meet patient demands./liliPerforms duties in a safe manner, in compliance with all safety policies and procedures./liliComplies with the Code of Conduct and all appropriate policies and procedures./liliOther duties, as assigned, that are relevant to the position and department./li/ulpShift: Day shifts, Monday - Friday/ppSpecialty Type: Nursing/ppSub Specialties: Medical Assistant/ppGeneral Certifications: N/A/p/div
