divh2CareerNation Hiring/h2pCareerNation is immediately hiring Admins, Medical Assistants, and Phlebotomists for a health screening project in Amityville NY./ppShift Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9a - 5pm/ppPay: Up to $24/hour/ppSkills needed for Phlebotomist Role: Strong and recent phlebotomy experience, minimum 2 years./ppSkills needed for Medical Assistant Role: Experience with phlebotomy, urine collection/labeling for drug screens, vitals, and manual BP./ppSkills needed for Admin role: Comfortable with Excel, Word, and Microsoft Teams. Ability to learn new technology quickly./pp**MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED**/ppPhlebotomist Position Overview: The Phlebotomist performs venipuncture and capillary puncture on adults, neonates and pediatric patients; works with computer; communicates in a manner that promotes professionalism as well as a comfortable phlebotomy./ppEssential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to the following):/pulliBlood Collection: from adult patients using vacutainer, syringe and butterfly techniques; capillary puncture using heel and fingerstick techniques./liliIdentifies and labels specimens appropriately./liliEnters accessioning data into the computer./liliPrepares specimens for send out testing./liliInventories supplies and prepares phlebotomy stations to effectively collect blood./liliMaintains patient confidentiality./liliPerforms related work as required./li/ulpKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:/pulliKnowledge of laboratory techniques to perform blood collection./liliKnowledge of container and minimum volume requirements for specimen collection./liliSkill in labeling and dispersing specimens to appropriate stations./liliSkill in interacting with patients representing a broad physical and socioeconomic spectrum. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, laboratory staff and medical staff./li/ulpTypical Physical Demands:/pulliRequires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination./liliFrequent standing, walking and bending required for extended periods of time./liliMust be able to support the body weight of an adult patient when moving from a chair to an exam table./liliRequires visual acuity and normal color perception./li/ulpWorking Conditions: Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a medical group and laboratory environment./ppQualifications and Education:/pulliHigh School diploma or GED and on the job training./liliOne year of phlebotomy required./li/ulpCertification: Certification from an accredited phlebotomy diploma program or certification from accredited Medical Assistant program required./ppMedical Assistant Position Overview: The role of a Clinical Medical Assistant is to provide care to patients/significant others via direct and/or telephone contact, following established standards and practices. S/he coordinates with other members of the care team to ensure seamless care delivery, maximal coordination of efforts, and active patient participation in planning and care. Assists physician or other provider with clinical procedures./ppMinimum Medical Assistant Qualifications:/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent/liliAt least one year of clinical experience in a medical office / clinic or hospital setting, or graduate of an accredited medical assistant program./liliRecord of prior stable employment and / or favorable references./li/ulpPreferred Qualifications:/pulliGraduate of an accredited medical assistant program with at least one year of recent experience as a medical assistant./liliCurrent certification as a medical assistant or eligible for certification./liliMust obtain certification through the CMM M.A exam course if not yet certified at time of employment./liliCurrent CPR / BLS certification./li/ul/div
