About the Role

divh2Medical Assistant/h2pWe are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our gastroenterology team at our Billingsley Road location in Charlotte. In this role, you will support Physicians, Advanced Care Providers, and staff in delivering safe, comprehensive, and culturally sensitive care. Youll be part of a collaborative environment focused on patient well-being and service excellence./ph3Key Responsibilities/h3pPatient Care Clinical Support/pulliCollaborate with clinical staff to deliver high-quality patient care and ensure patient satisfaction./liliMaintain patient safety throughout all office visits and care interactions./liliProvide friendly, professional support to patients, including prescription refills, prior authorizations, scheduling, and referrals./liliConduct comprehensive patient intake: greet, identify, obtain vital signs, review medical history, and document symptoms./liliCommunicate patient concerns, abnormal findings, and clinical updates to providers promptly./liliEducate patients on conditions, procedures, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions./liliPerform specialized procedures such as breath tests and PillCam placements./liliTriage patient calls and respond according to established clinical protocols./liliConduct follow-up calls to monitor treatment progress, compliance, and patient outcomes./li/ulpClinical Operations Workflow/pulliPrepare, maintain, and restock exam rooms and clinical areas to ensure cleanliness and readiness./liliManage patient flow efficiently to support timely, coordinated visits./liliAssist with clinical tasks and specimen collection, preparation, and submission for laboratory testing./liliComplete pre-certifications, insurance referrals, and medication authorizations accurately and efficiently./liliUpdate lab orders with correct diagnosis codes and ensure accuracy of supporting documentation./liliSchedule appointments, procedures, labs, and imaging; manage electronic calendars and inter-office communication./li/ulpDocumentation Compliance/pulliDocument patient information accurately and promptly in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)./liliMaintain complete and up-to-date patient records to support coordinated, high-quality care./liliFollow strict infection control protocols and comply with OSHA, HIPAA, AAAHC, and CDHA standards./liliUphold all regulatory, legal, and organizational requirements, acting promptly to meet required changes./liliParticipate in performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives./li/ulpProfessionalism Development/pulliMaintain current skills, knowledge, and clinical competencies through ongoing education./liliComplete all mandatory trainings and assigned educational modules./liliDemonstrate active commitment to meeting and exceeding patient, employee, and organizational expectations./liliSupport CDHAs mission, values, and organizational goals through daily work./liliPerform other duties as assigned within scope of practice./li/ulpWhy Join Us?/ppAt CDHA, we foster a supportive and inclusive environment where every team member plays a vital role in delivering exceptional care.
