Maintenance Custodian

Provide day-to-day cleaning of the buildings, with minimal ground maintenance.

• Day-to-day cleaning of rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, corridors, stairways, and other work areas so that the health standards are maintained
• Day-to-day service, cleaning and supply restrooms
• Empty wastebaskets and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
• Dust and polish furniture and equipment
• Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean and tidy
• Wash windows, walls, ceilings and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary
• Sweep, scrub, wax or polish floors, using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines
• Assist with setup and take-down for various meetings and events
• Minimal ground maintenance including watering, leaf removal and other basic tasks
• Stock supplies as needed
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Physical dexterity (ability to stand, stoop, bend and stretch for long periods of time)
• 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area desired.

• Understanding of cleaning standards and procedures
• Knowledge of cleaning supplies, equipment and hazardous chemicals
• Ability to operate mechanical cleaning equipment
• Basic grounds maintenance skills
• Ability to lift and manually lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
• Ability to work with professional staff
