Utility Person 1

Boston, United States, 02111 MATEP LLC Skilled ( >3 experience <15 years) Construction / Installation / O&M Local Energy Infrastructures Permanent Full - Time

Under the direction of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, our Utility Person I, at ENGIE's Medical Area Total Energy Plant (MATEP), will perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks. You will:

  • Perform cleaning of plant offices, storage areas, locker rooms, stairways, satellite facilities, and other areas as required
  • Clean and dust furniture and fixtures, wash walls and windows in plant and office areas
  • Clean interior plant critical operating equipment and walks
  • Paint building and associated equipment
  • Assist uniform vendor in the collection and distribution of uniforms, wipers, and runners
  • Maintain the plant's exterior and walks, including grounds keeping, window cleaning, trash collection and removal, sweeping of walks and passageways, and snow removal from walkways and driveways
  • Observe and comply with all standard safety codes and practices and perform work in accordance with recognized trade and company standards and, where applicable, local, state, and federal laws
  • Participate in mandatory training, and other programs
  • Participate in emergency response team
  • Perform other maintenance related duties as required

What You'll Bring

A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent

A minimum of three (3) years of applicable experience in an industrial facility

Knowledge of power generation, power generation equipment and technology

This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily basis

Afternoon Shift Monday Friday; 2pm-10pm

May be required to work overtime - relief, off-shift, and emergency coverage (nights, weekends) and/or other, as needed

Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license; may drive company vehicle

Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

This position consists of 20% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Maximo CMMS programs

Must be able to work internally in the physical plant and externally on the facility's grounds or at satellite facilities

Ability to meet highest attendance requirements

Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, or crouch

Occasionally required to climb or balance

Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy

Compensation Hourly Range: $28.98 USD hourly

Your position is part of a bargaining unit represented by International Union of Operating Engineers-Local 877. Many of the terms and conditions of your employment, including but not limited to work scheduling, wages, vacation, sick leave, and other benefits, will be governed by a collective bargaining agreement (the \"CBA\") between the Company and the union.
