Livewell Urgent Care Veterinarian
About the Role
Livewell Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated Livewell Urgent Care Veterinarian to join our collaborative veterinary health team and provide high-quality, same-day and urgent medical care for pets in a compassionate, client-centered environment. As an urgent care veterinarian, you will focus on managing non-routine and acute cases—such as injuries, sudden illnesses, and conditions requiring timely attention—while upholding our commitment to individualized, preventative, and wellness-oriented medicine. Working primarily with canine and feline patients, you will perform thorough physical examinations, triage and prioritize cases based on medical urgency, and develop clear diagnostic and treatment plans tailored to each animal’s specific needs. In this role, you will utilize in-house diagnostics, including laboratory testing, radiography, and other point-of-care tools, to rapidly gather clinical information and guide medical decision-making. You will treat a wide range of urgent presentations—such as vomiting and diarrhea, lameness, minor trauma, wounds, respiratory signs, pain, and exacerbations of chronic disease—providing stabilization, pain management, and appropriate follow-up or referral when necessary. You will perform urgent-care–appropriate procedures such as wound care, laceration repair, drain placement, abscess treatment, splinting, and sedation for diagnostic or minor surgical interventions, always with patient comfort and safety as a priority. Client communication and education are central to this position. You will explain diagnostic findings, differential diagnoses, treatment options, costs, and home-care instructions in a clear, compassionate, and respectful manner. By emphasizing preventative strategies and ongoing wellness care, you will help clients understand how urgent visits fit into their pet’s broader health picture. You will work closely with our experienced veterinary technicians, assistants, and client service representatives, contributing to a supportive and efficient team environment where collaboration, empathy, and professionalism are highly valued. Livewell Animal Hospital fosters a caring, growth-oriented culture built on respect, open communication, and a shared commitment to excellent veterinary care. As a Livewell Urgent Care Veterinarian, you will be encouraged to pursue continuing education, refine your clinical skills, and participate in case discussions and quality improvement efforts. You will have the opportunity to mentor and support team members, contribute to medical protocol development, and help shape a positive client experience that reflects our values of compassion, transparency, and high-quality treatment. This role is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys a fast-paced but structured setting, values teamwork, and wants to make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of pets and their families while maintaining strong, trusting relationships with clients and colleagues. The urgent care schedule is designed to meet the needs of pets requiring prompt attention while supporting work-life balance in a modern small-animal practice. You will be part of a coordinated system of care within Livewell Animal Hospital, focusing on patients who are ill or injured but generally stable, and partnering with local emergency or specialty centers when continuous or advanced care is indicated. By joining our team, you will help expand access to timely, compassionate veterinary services in our community and reinforce Livewell Animal Hospital’s reputation for comprehensive, high-quality care across the spectrum of wellness, illness, surgery, and urgent care.
