Lead Software Engineer | Ruby on Rails | Remote (Netherlands)

I’m partnered with a growing European technology business undergoing a major platform transformation and looking for a Lead Software Engineer to help build and shape a brand-new product engineering team.

This is a great fit for someone who still wants to be hands‑on in code, but also wants to take ownership of technical direction, team shape, and engineering quality in a high‑trust environment.

You’ll join during a meaningful rebuild, helping move core product areas away from fragmented, legacy systems towards a modern, internally owned platform.

What you’ll do

Build a new team from scratch
Lead and mentor a team of engineers while remaining hands‑on in delivery
Contribute directly to full‑stack product development in Ruby on Rails
Shape architecture, engineering standards, and technical direction
Partner closely with product and stakeholders to refine requirements and priorities
Support hiring, onboarding, and technical guidance for incoming engineers
