Laundry Specialist - Full Time - Talamore Sun Prairie
About the Role
Responsible for collecting and doing laundry for the residents on campus. Additional duties may include basic cleaning of common areas, project cleaning and seasonal cleaning duties as assigned.
Provide consistent & quality work to the residents and staff
Maintain a clean and orderly work area
Follow job routines and instructions according to the assigned schedule
Assure resident's laundry is cleaned as scheduled
Maintain inventory for daily needs & notify supervisor of supply issues
When necessary, may need to assist in keeping all common areas neat, clean and safe
Follow the daily schedule to ensure all tasks are accomplished in a timely manner and all belongings are returned to the correct resident
Ability to independently and safely operate a washer and dryer
Able to make responsible choices and decisions, and act in the resident's best interest
Able to maintain the integrity of the fabric by using the correct chemicals/laundry cycles
Ability to motivate oneself and work independently
Ability to be flexible and to work with other staff and residents
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals
Good work ethic
Maintains confidentiality
Able to read, write, spell, do basic math, speak and understand English
Bend and squat to the floor to pick up debris, trash containers, and to use cleaning tools and products, etc.
See objects within 35 feet to monitor work areas, i.e., determine areas that are in need of cleaning
Able to interpret colors to read warnings, labels, wires, etc.
Move, push, pull and/or lift objects weighing 10 to 25 pounds.
Use hands and arms for simple grasping, sorting and folding
Use cleaning solution/chemicals, etc.
Perform tasks requiring actions of muscles or groups of muscles to walk, stoop, bend, lift, and to carry objects
Walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time
Speak clearly and make self understood in face-to-face interactions
See objects closely to read directions, instructions, chemical warnings, etc.
Hear normal sounds and voices with some background noise to receive verbal instructions, answer telephones, communicate with others, etc.
Works indoors in a climate-controlled environment majority of the time.
Shifts are Monday Friday and AM shift.
