About the Role

Values Customer Focus, One L&I, Respect, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Learning and Growth, Reliability Role Overview Reporting to the IT Systems Testing & Quality Assurance Manager, the role leads high‑impact software testing initiatives across a diverse portfolio of enterprise IT projects and product teams, ensuring reliable, high‑quality software delivery through best practices, consistency, and modernization of quality standards. Responsibilities Establish, standardize, and administer testing methodology, process, and procedures for assigned projects and/or product teams. Document and disseminate testing methodology and processes. Collaborate with business and project stakeholders to ensure consistent or appropriate test processes. Identify forms of testing, test environment needs, and detailed schedules for test phases. Manage test data and versioning controls in test environments. Develop test plans for system, functional, integration, performance, regression, and user acceptance testing. Provide framework for test case and automated test script development, and develop test cases mapped to business requirements. Participate in requirements and design reviews for early input on test planning, risk identification, and flaw detection. Design and develop manual test cases and automated test scripts. Manage and conduct system, functional, integration, performance, load, stress, regression, and user acceptance testing. Maintain test case and test script libraries. Report test progress and effectiveness during validation. Manage defects identified through the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Work closely with developers on test‑driven development activities, including code reviews and reviewing unit test scripts and results for completeness. And more. Required Qualifications Eight (8) years of qualifying professional IT experience in a full‑time professional IT environment; or A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a closely related field plus four (4) years of qualifying professional IT experience; or An associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a closely related field plus six (6) years of qualifying professional IT experience. Required experience must include at least four (4) years of experience with: various software testing types (system, integration, data validation, user acceptance, scalability, performance, stress, load, regression); functional and non‑functional testing methodologies throughout SDLC and test‑driven development; writing and executing test plans, scenarios, cases, automated test scripts, and interpreting results; analyzing functional design requirements or user stories and developing use case scenarios; configuring and managing testing tools, test case libraries, defect tracking, and reporting; and the ability to learn, grow, and meet others’ needs. Desired Qualifications Professional certifications in quality assurance or software testing (e.g., ISTQB CTFL, CSTE). Three (3) years of experience with Agile/Scrum and/or modern development methodologies, Visual Studio/IDE, team development, and executing SQL queries. Work Arrangement This position allows hybrid and remote work options, including teleworking. Remote work from a state outside Washington requires approval.
