Insurance Defense Paralegal

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal with Insurance Defense experience to support attorneys in all phases of litigation. This role involves managing discovery, medical record review, expert coordination, client communication, and trial preparation. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and capable of handling a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Issue subpoenas in accordance with applicable rules and procedures


• 
  Schedule and coordinate depositions, mediations, and other litigation events


• 
  Obtain, review, and analyze medical records for case evaluation and strategy support


• 
  Draft detailed medical chronologies and case summaries


• 
  Prepare discovery requests, including interrogatories and requests for production


• 
  Communicate and coordinate with expert witnesses regarding case materials and scheduling


• 
  Interact professionally with insured clients and insurance adjusters throughout the course of litigation


• 
  Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness materials, and trial binders


• 
  Manage heavy calendaring and scheduling, ensuring all deadlines, hearings, and litigation milestones are met


• 
  Maintain organized case files and ensure all documents are accurate and up to date


• 
  Support attorneys with ongoing case management tasks as needed


 

Qualifications & Skills

• 
  Must have Insurance Defense experience


• 
  Prior litigation paralegal experience required


• 
  Strong understanding of litigation procedures, discovery, and trial preparation


• 
  Experience reviewing medical records and preparing medical chronologies


• 
  Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines


• 
  Strong written and verbal communication skills


• 
  High attention to detail and accuracy in all work product


• 
  Ability to communicate professionally with clients, adjusters, and experts


• 
  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with legal case management systems
