Work Week: Monday - Friday Job Description and Duties The Employment Development Department (EDD) is seeking a highly motivated Information Technology Manager II to lead the Enterprise Testing Solutions (ETS) section. As the ETS Section Chief, you will oversee two Information Technology Manager I leaders and their multi-disciplinary QA/QC teams responsible for enterprise testing of mission‑critical applications and services that support EDD program areas and external customers. Under administrative direction, the ITM II sets the enterprise testing vision, standards, and outcomes across functional quality, with emphasis on system performance testing and test automation integrated within modern delivery practices. The incumbent provides managerial oversight of test strategy, governance, and reporting across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid development efforts, ensures testing processes and artifacts enable informed executive decisions and partners with program leadership to prioritize risk‑based testing and readiness for release. The ETS Section Chief is accountable for establishing and maintaining QA/QC governance and change management, interpreting and applying applicable laws, rules, regulations, and statewide IT policies within testing documentation and decisions, and building a high‑performing, inclusive organization through workforce planning, coaching, and performance management of subordinate managers and staff. Qualifications Applicants must meet the Minimum Qualifications stated in the Classification Specification. Minimum qualifications include experience and education as outlined in the Classification Specification for Information Technology Manager II.
