HR MANAGER
Pittsburgh, PA
$85,000-$95,000
We are seeking an experienced HR professional to lead and manage all Human Resources functions across the organization. This role will provide strategic and operational guidance on HR initiatives, employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, compliance, and staffing. The HR leader will partner with senior management to drive organizational effectiveness, ensure legal compliance, and foster a positive workplace culture.

OVERVIEW OF THE HR MANAGER ROLE:

  • Direct the HR team and oversee the full recruitment cycle, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and seasonal staffing needs.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, 401(k), and open enrollment processes, ensuring compliance and working closely with third-party providers.
  • Review and approve payroll processed by HR staff and ensure payroll compliance in collaboration with external vendors.
  • Develop, maintain, and update HR policies and procedures; revise the employee handbook and communicate changes to staff.
  • Lead the performance management process and identify employee training and development needs.
  • Support leadership development programs and assist with mentorship and training initiatives.
  • Address employee relations matters, conduct investigations, recommend corrective actions, and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Ensure all job descriptions are accurate, current, and compliant with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct stay interviews to gauge employee satisfaction and promote retention; oversee exit interviews and unemployment claims.
  • Administer and monitor Workers’ Compensation and other compliance-related programs.
  • Monitor changes in labor laws and regulations to maintain organizational compliance.
  • Serve as a liaison between employees and management, fostering strong relationships and promoting a positive workplace culture.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. PHR, SPHR, or SHRM certification strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience across multiple HR functions.
  • 7+ years of experience in a supervisory or leadership HR role.
  • Proven ability to implement and manage organizational strategies, lead HR teams, and guide managers in employee development.
  • Experience developing policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel, Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and HR software applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to follow through to achieve results.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
