About the Role
Hospital Cleaning Staff Position
Under the direction of the Director of Inpatient Services, he/she is responsible for sustaining an aseptic environment in all areas of the hospital by cleaning rooms, making beds, replenishing linens, maintaining floors and ceilings.
Responsibilities:
- Routinely cleans patient rooms, North and South nursing units, offices, and common areas.
- Empty trash in patient rooms and at the stations.
- Watch for hazards and report as necessary.
- Collect dirty laundry from all patient areas and distribute the clean linen back to the appropriate areas.
- Clean rooms after patient discharges.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED required.
- 2 years' experience in a hospital environment
Physical Requirements:
- Physical movements include sitting, reaching, bending, climbing stairs, stooping and stretching.
- Able to lift 40 lbs without assistance.
- Visual acuity is required.
- Possess manual dexterity sufficient to operate cleaning equipment.
