Flex Sonographer

Avera Health is seeking a skilled Flex Sonographer to join our compassionate Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this flexible, as-needed role, you will perform high‑quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures for patients of varying ages in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings. Working collaboratively with radiologists, providers, and nursing staff, you will obtain and optimize diagnostic images, accurately document findings, and support timely clinical decisions that directly impact patient outcomes. Duties include preparing and positioning patients, selecting appropriate imaging protocols, operating and maintaining ultrasound equipment, and ensuring patient comfort, safety, and privacy in alignment with Avera’s mission of compassion, hospitality, and stewardship. You will use your clinical judgment to recognize normal and abnormal findings, adapt exams to patient condition, and communicate critical results following established policies. As a Flex Sonographer, you will work a variable schedule that may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, providing coverage across designated care locations as needed. You will be expected to maintain current knowledge of ultrasound best practices, participate in ongoing education, and contribute to a collaborative, respectful work environment.
