Finance Data Steward / Data Strategy Consultant Overview: Our client, a mutual insurance company, is seeking a Finance-fluent Data Steward to support their evolving financial data strategy. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert and knowledge owner for financial data products, bridging the gap between the finance function and the Enterprise Data Office. This is a W2 hourly interim engagement (3-6 months, potential to extend). Key Responsibilities Serve as a data steward and subject matter expert for financial data products within the insurance finance function Support data governance, documentation, and consumption frameworks across finance Partner with the Enterprise Data Office to advance data strategy initiatives and self-service capabilities Support Snowflake data migration and Power BI reporting build-out within the finance function Identify and document data requirements for investment accounting and other financial data products Help define robust, forward-looking data requirements that go beyond basic operational needs Qualifications 8+ years of experience in financial services, ideally insurance, with a strong finance or accounting foundation Demonstrated experience in data governance, data stewardship, or financial data strategy Hands‑on experience with Snowflake and Power BI strongly preferred Ability to bridge technical data concepts with finance business requirements Strong communicator comfortable working across finance, IT, and data teams Experience supporting self‑service finance model development a plus Title: Finance Data Steward / Data Strategy Consultant Location: Remote Client Industry: Insurance Compensation: $80/hr. - $90/hr.
