Emergency Room Nurse (rn Night Shift) - Full Time

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. Mercy Hospital South Emergency Department is known for its exceptional teamwork and abundant learning opportunities. Our ED includes triage, behavioral health, and super track areas. We are a Level 2 Trauma Center, Level 1 Stroke and STEMI center, with Comprehensive Stroke Certification. We treat all patients, from adults to pediatrics, and handle cases ranging from low acuity to critical care.

Construction has begun to nearly double the size of our Emergency Department. We are expanding from 61 to 73 beds, including six larger trauma bays and a dedicated 13-bed behavioral health area. The new ICU-like layout will enhance patient care with smaller room pods and improved nurse visibility. The project is scheduled for completion in 2027, increasing the ED's size to over 65,000 square feet from the current 39,000 square feet.
