Driver

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for transporting packages/parts from a packaging plant or warehouse location to businesses. Duties include loading packages into vehicle, using a navigation system to map route and delivering parcels to the correct addresses in a timely manner.

Wage: Based on experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties as assigned.

• Transport packages to and from destinations.
• Arrive at destinations on schedule.
• Fulfill administrative needs, office pickups etc.
• Use navigation applications to determine the best route.

Vehicle

• Maintain a clean vehicle.
• Ensure vehicle is always properly fueled and ready to use, using the WEX card for fuel and maintenance.
• Ensure vehicle properly maintained.
• Maintain the daily Company Vehicle Log.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections.

Personal Presentation

• Must be organized, neat and wear a company provided shirt.
• Always interact with clients professionally.

Packages

• Verify packages that match with Pick Slips for each delivery when vehicle is loaded.

Paperwork

• Maintain the Customer Delivery Log, Customer, Sales Order #, Pieces and Weight, signature of the person that received the packages.
• Ensure packing slips for all deliveries.
• If Pick Lists are taken to a customer's location, ensure that all are returned to your home base daily.
• All delivery paperwork is turned in to the Warehouse Supervisor/Manager.

Delivery

• Some deliveries are dropped off at the customers receiving dock.
• In other instances, we may be putting product away at the customers facility.
• For VMI customers may put material away in the customers designated areas and perform inventory count.
• That may also include either filling out a handwritten inventory/order sheet or utilizing a tablet to scan bin labels to replenish the customer's inventory.

Returns

• There may be situations that require pick-up product at a customer as it is being returned (this is delivered to the Quality person at facility).
• On occasion may require pick-up at customer supplied material that company uses (this is delivered to the receiver at your facility).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• To perform the position, you must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR. ITAR defines a US Person as a US Citizen, US Permanent Resident (I.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
• Must have a valid driver's license and at least one year of driving experience.
• Excellent navigation skills and proficiency in using navigation applications to find delivery locations.
• Time Management and organizational skills to keep track of deliveries and stay on schedule.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with individuals.

• Physical stamina and good upper body strength to lift packages and objects as well as be able to load and unload them from vehicle.
• Must have attention to detail.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to perform the following.

Sitting, standing, or walking for long periods throughout the day, up to 8 hours per day. Repetitive movements such as bending, lifting, squatting. Ability to lift or move products up to 10 pounds regularly and frequently up to 25 pounds without assistance. Physical stamina and manual dexterity.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• This position is exposed to large moving equipment, including motorized pallet jacks, forklifts, lift trucks, and conveyor belts.
• The facility is equipped with both air condition and heat.
