DATA ANALYST II, Research Admin & Operations BOSTON, MA, United States Salary Grade Grade 50 Expected Hiring Range Minimum $100,275.00 Expected Hiring Range Maximum $120,000.00 The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training and internal pay comparison. Position Type Full-Time/Regular Boston University Information Services & Technology (IS&T) is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Data Analyst II to support the university’s research administration systems. In this role, you will help migrate IRB and Grants & Agreements from BU’s legacy Kuali platform to the Huron Research Suite, ensuring data integrity throughout the transition. The position involves data migration, designing and maintaining system integrations, and providing functional support to ensure reliable operations across research administration modules already in use, including IACUC, AOps, and COI. This is a two-year, term-limited position with hybrid/remote scheduling options. Key Responsibilities Integration Development & Maintenance Design, configure, and maintain integration jobs between Huron modules and other university systems. Develop and troubleshoot APIs, ETL processes, and batch jobs to ensure seamless data flow. Monitor integration performance and implement error-handling and logging mechanisms. Functional Support & User Assistance Provide functional support for Huron Research Suite modules. Assist end-users with workflows, issue resolution, and system navigation. Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to support team knowledge and operational continuity. Data Migration & Management Support data migration activities, including mapping, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation. Collaborate with stakeholders to define migration requirements and ensure data integrity. Execute test migrations and troubleshoot issues during cutover and post-migration phases. Partner with IT and research administration staff to align technical solutions with business needs. Participate in system upgrades, module implementations, and regression testing. Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization. Required Skills Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2 years of relevant experience. Experience with system integrations, ETL tools, and APIs. Background in data migration (mapping, cleansing, validation). Familiarity with Huron Research Suite or other research administration platforms preferred. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams and functional stakeholders. Bonus Qualifications Experience with Research Administration systems or other higher education enterprise systems. Exposure to data governance practices such as stewardship, access controls, and lifecycle management.
