About the Role

Cyber Security Engineer - Remote/Nationwide Remote position available nationwide in the United States. About the Position Set up, configure, and maintain Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender, including integrating various data sources and Azure Log Analytics Workspaces. Create and tune custom detection rules to identify advanced cyber threats. Investigate security alerts, perform cyber threat analysis, support SOC analysts, and develop incident response playbooks. Work with CXM IT and security teams to implement security solutions and enhance overall cybersecurity posture. Analyze security data, identify indicators of compromise (IOCs), and correlate events to improve detection and resilience. Document system/technical specifications to ensure solutions support functional requirements. Serve as an experienced SME for Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender. Assist with evidence collection for audits. Develop and enforce security policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, FedRAMP, SOC, NIST 800). Collaborate across teams to ensure secure operations. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's or associate degree. 5 years of security experience. Analytical problem‑solving skills. Effective communication with diverse audiences. Ability to function effectively in fast‑paced environments. Capability to perform job functions with minimal supervision. Clear written communication on problem summaries. Deep understanding of Azure services and cloud‑native security solutions. Expertise with SIEM and SOAR principles, especially Microsoft Sentinel. Experience in threat hunting, vulnerability assessment, and digital forensics. Proficiency in PowerShell for automation and management tasks. Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Proficient in KQL. Knowledge of NIST 800 guidelines. Windows and Linux knowledge.
