About the Role

Our Houston-based client is seeking a detail-oriented Customer support anaylst – Payments to support customer payment processing and reconciliation activities. This role focuses on accurately posting payments, researching discrepancies, and supporting reporting and administrative functions under general supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately post assigned manual and electronic customer payments to accounts
  • Research check payments daily to identify correct customer accounts
  • Verify accuracy of payments, investigate discrepancies, and reconcile errors
  • Perform daily payment reconciliations
  • Resolve and report payment issues in a timely and accurate manner
  • Support special projects and ad hoc assignments as needed
  • Provide clerical and limited administrative support
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma with 5+ years of experience in a related functional area
  • Strong experience with payment processing, reconciliation, or account posting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and enterprise systems such as PeopleSoft, Passport, Time, EERS, and mainframe applications
  • Experience developing customized reports using integrated systems and MS Office tools
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and mathematical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Positive, professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills

  • Familiarity with power or utility companies
  • Experience working with customer billing or financial operations systems
