About the Role
This is the first of three levels in the Custodial Services series. Incumbents are responsible for the cleanliness and appearance of assigned facilities. Responsibilities may include sweeping; mopping; vacuuming; emptying trash; dusting, sanitizing bathrooms and/or kitchens; monitoring supply inventories; and setting up for events.

- Performs a variety of general custodial and/or sanitizing duties including cleaning restrooms, kitchens, and grounds; dusting; mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming floors; replenishing toilet paper, towels, and soap; delivering supplies and materials; washing walls, windows, doors, and handles; and/or performing other related activities.
- Performs manual labor activities, which includes gathering materials and equipment, placing materials in proper locations, moving furniture and equipment, climbing and working on ladders, and/or performing other related activities.
- Operates and maintains a variety of cleaning, maintenance, and/or operational equipment and tools.
- Collects and disposes of trash from grounds and buildings.
- Monitors available inventory and notifies appropriate individual(s) when stock levels reach specified levels.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
This position does not require supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.); or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. LICENSING REQUIREMENTS Valid Driver's License as per State law or requirement. - Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; and risk of electrical shock.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
An employee in this position will be supplied with a uniform, provided by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury. The employee is responsible for abiding by the Police Jury's Uniform Agreement.
