About the Role
Custodians work in various settings and are responsible for the general upkeep of a building. They are key members of the custodial team who work collaboratively with Custodial Team leads to provide quality custodial services to our clients. Please note that 75% of the labor hours for our contracts are reserved for individuals with documented significant disabilities. These programs allow people who have significant disabilities an opportunity to gain meaningful employment, lead more independent lives, reduce dependence on government social programs and become taxpayers. Compensation is depending on experience and qualifications.
Essential duties and responsibilities include cleaning restrooms, toilets, sinks, floors, urinals, mirrors, fixtures, spot cleaning doors, partitions, walls, windows, and all horizontal surfaces, restocking paper supplies, emptying trash, cleaning carpets, complying with safety rules, mixing chemical solutions, displaying a positive attitude, participating in required meetings, adhering to work schedules, demonstrating ethics, and meeting yearly mandatory training requirements.
Other duties and responsibilities include supporting service recipients, supervisors, and Custodial Team Leads at assigned contract sites.
Supervisory responsibility is not applicable for this position.
Required qualifications include one to three months previous cleaning or related approved custodial training program, ability to lift fifty pounds, ability to pass a criminal background check, documentation of a disability (depending on service contract), and a valid driver's license.
Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma/GED, one year of previous custodial experience in a federal contract or commercial cleaning site, and ability to operate a variety of buffing machines.
