About the Role

Methodist Health System is seeking a skilled and patient-centered CT/X-Ray Tech to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department within our network of hospitals and clinics across Texas. In this role, you will perform high-quality diagnostic CT and general radiographic examinations to support accurate diagnosis and treatment for patients of all ages. Working in a fast-paced clinical environment, you will collaborate closely with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the care team to deliver safe, timely, and compassionate imaging services that align with our mission to improve and save lives.
The CT/X-Ray Tech will be responsible for preparing and positioning patients for CT and X-ray procedures, verifying patient identity and exam orders, and following established imaging protocols to ensure optimal image quality with the lowest reasonable radiation dose. You will operate modern CT scanners and digital radiography equipment, perform required quality control checks, and troubleshoot basic equipment issues as needed. This position requires careful attention to radiation safety practices for patients, visitors, and staff, including proper shielding, adherence to dose optimization principles, and compliance with departmental and regulatory guidelines.
As part of Methodist Health System’s culture of integrity, compassion, and accountability, you will provide clear explanations of procedures, address patient questions and concerns, and offer support to patients who may be anxious, in pain, or critically ill. You will frequently collaborate with emergency and inpatient care teams to prioritize and complete urgent and stat imaging requests, adjusting to rapidly changing clinical needs while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. You will document all exams and contrast usage accurately in the electronic medical record and radiology information systems, ensuring that images are correctly labeled, routed, and available for interpretation.
Key expectations for this role include starting IV lines and administering contrast media under established protocols, monitoring patients for adverse reactions, and responding appropriately to changes in patient condition. You will assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe imaging environment, participate in equipment maintenance and quality assurance activities, and help develop and follow standard operating procedures that support regulatory and accreditation standards. Reliability, strong communication skills, and a team-first mindset are essential, as you will work closely with peers and leaders in a collaborative and inclusive environment.
