About the Role
Manchester Memorial Hospital, part of Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN), is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will perform high-quality CT imaging studies for a diverse patient population, supporting accurate diagnosis and treatment in a fast-paced acute care environment. Working closely with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the care team, you will prepare and position patients, select appropriate imaging protocols, and operate multi-slice CT scanners in accordance with departmental guidelines, manufacturer specifications, and radiation safety standards. You will verify physician orders, obtain relevant clinical history, screen patients for contraindications, and administer contrast agents as permitted, carefully monitoring patients for adverse reactions and ensuring clear communication throughout each exam to promote comfort, safety, and understanding. Responsibilities include assessing image quality, adjusting technical factors, and repeating images when necessary, as well as accurately documenting procedures, charging, and patient information within the electronic health record and PACS. The CT Technologist will adhere to ALARA principles, infection control practices, and all hospital and regulatory policies, assisting with quality control, equipment checks, and troubleshooting minor technical issues to minimize downtime. You will help prioritize and coordinate inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department studies, responding promptly to STAT and trauma cases and participating in on-call, weekend, and holiday rotations as needed to support continuous patient care.
