As a CT Technologist in our Healthcare & Medical Services department, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging for a diverse patient population. In this role, you will perform computed tomography (CT) examinations according to physician orders and department protocols, producing high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and comfort. You will verify patient identification, review clinical history and exam indications, and select appropriate scanning protocols based on patient condition, body habitus, and diagnostic needs. Using advanced CT equipment, you will position patients accurately, administer contrast media as required, monitor for adverse reactions, and follow radiation safety and ALARA principles to minimize exposure. You will work closely with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure timely, accurate, and complete imaging studies, communicating pertinent findings or concerns promptly. Responsibilities include operating and troubleshooting CT scanners and related equipment, reviewing images for diagnostic quality, performing basic image processing and 3D reconstructions, and ensuring exams are properly labeled and routed through PACS and the electronic medical record. You will follow established infection prevention and safety procedures, assist with patient transfers and mobility, and provide clear explanations to help alleviate anxiety and ensure a positive patient experience. The CT Technologist will also support workflow by prioritizing stat and urgent cases, coordinating with the emergency department, inpatient units, and outpatient areas to reduce wait times and optimize throughput. You will participate in on-call, weekend, and evening rotations as needed to support 24/7 operations, and assist in training or precepting new technologists, students, or cross-training staff. Maintaining accurate documentation, contrast and supply inventory, and adherence to departmental quality assurance and quality control procedures is expected.
