Coop Student - Security Officer
About the Role
These Co-ops are Full-Time Day shift Department based internship. Incumbent receives academic credit in accordance with school and internship guidelines. Internship provides hands-on learning experience. Seeking students that are enrolled in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Psychology and Healthcare. Duties:
- Patrol hospital grounds to prevent theft, safety risks, and unauthorized activity
- Support patients, visitors, and staff with empathy and professionalism
- Respond to incidents and assist in emergency situations
- Gain exposure to hospital operations and multidisciplinary teams
- Operate real-time security tools: CCTV, alarms, and access systems
- Train in handcuffing, defensive tactics, and de-escalation strategies
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Good time management skills.
- Strong oral communication skills.
- Ability to take and follow direction.
- Willingness to learn.
