About the Role
Job SummaryGray Media is looking for a Cloud Engineer to join the Gray Digital Development CloudOps team. This role will work alongside our Staff Engineer and development teams to help design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure and services in Amazon Web Services (AWS). The Cloud Engineer will assist developers in safely deploying applications, improving reliability, and building scalable cloud architecture for both public-facing products and internal platforms. This position is fully remote.ResponsibilitiesAssist in designing, implementing, and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure for web applications and internal systemsDevelop and maintain serverless applications using AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDBSupport and improve CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, and related automation toolsCollaborate with developers to create and review AWS CDK infrastructure code and deployment strategiesMaintain and support authentication services using Amazon CognitoConfigure and monitor application logging, metrics, alarms, and uptime reporting using CloudWatch and related servicesHelp implement alerting and reporting related to system availability, performance, and cloud cost usageImplement secure configurations including IAM roles, policies, and least-privilege accessAssist with API integrations, routing, and networking configurations within AWS environmentsMaintain storage solutions such as S3 and data services, including DynamoDB and RDS, where applicableWork with the CloudOps team to improve the reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency of cloud resourcesProvide guidance and documentation to development teams on deploying and operating applications in AWSParticipate in code reviews for infrastructure and automation changesStay current with emerging AWS services and evaluate new capabilities such as AI integrations, AWS BedrockQualifications & Requirementsyears of hands-on experience working with AWS in a professional or production environmentExperience building or supporting applications using services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, or RDSFamiliarity with Infrastructure as Code concepts (AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar)Experience using Git and GitHub for version control and collaborationUnderstanding of RESTful APIs and basic web application architectureExperience troubleshooting deployments, application errors, or cloud service issuesFamiliarity with monitoring and logging concepts (CloudWatch metrics, logs, and alerts)Understanding of authentication and authorization concepts (OAuth, tokens, identity providers, etc.)Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple teamsStrong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologiesPreferred (but not required)AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps Administrator certificationExperience with CI/CD automation pipelinesExperience with AWS CDK or other infrastructure-as-code frameworksExperience writing application code in TypeScript, Python, or similar languagesExposure to Google Cloud Platform services or willingness to learn and support limited GCP integrations alongside AWS infrastructureFamiliarity with cost optimization practices in cloud environmentsExperience working with containerized workloads (Docker or Kubernetes)GDM-TV/Gray Media is a drug-free company.J-18808-Ljbffr
