About the Role

The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief of Plastic Surgery to lead and grow a multi-site surgical program serving our nation's Veterans. This leadership role combines clinical excellence, academic engagement, and strategic oversight in a collaborative VA environment. Located on Florida's Gulf Coast, this opportunity also offers the financial advantage of no state income tax, enhancing your overall compensation. Position Highlights Leadership role with administrative, clinical, and programmatic oversight
Active clinical and surgical practice
Oversight across Bay Pines VA and Lee County healthcare facility
Opportunity to mentor residents, students, and multidisciplinary staff
Influence program growth, quality initiatives, and strategic direction
Key Responsibilities Lead all aspects of plastic surgery services including clinical care, education, research, and operations
Supervise plastic surgeons, residents (plastic & general surgery), medical students, nursing staff, and PAs
Participate in strategic planning, program development, and performance improvement
Maintain a high-quality surgical practice
Provide intermittent night and weekend call coverage
Conduct periodic visits to affiliated Lee County facility
