Charge Nurse Rn Cardiac Care

HCA Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Charge Nurse RN for our Cardiac Care unit within the Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this leadership role, you will coordinate and oversee the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based cardiac nursing care while supporting a culture of compassion, teamwork, and continuous learning. As the Charge Nurse, you will serve as a clinical resource and role model for bedside nurses and support staff, helping to ensure safe, timely, and effective care for patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions, including heart failure, post–cardiac surgery, arrhythmias, chest pain, and post–interventional cardiology procedures.
Working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, case managers, and the interdisciplinary care team, you will manage patient flow on the unit, including admissions, transfers, and discharges, balancing acuity and staffing to promote optimal outcomes. You will assist with bedside assessments, develop and update individualized nursing care plans, and ensure adherence to all clinical protocols, core cardiac quality measures, and regulatory standards. You will help monitor telemetry and other cardiac monitoring systems, respond to changes in patient condition, and support rapid response and code situations as needed.
The Charge Nurse RN Cardiac Care is responsible for assigning and supervising nursing staff, providing real-time coaching and clinical guidance, and fostering an environment that promotes professional growth and shared decision-making. You will support the orientation and precepting of new team members and students, participate in performance feedback, and help drive unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. You will collaborate with leadership on staffing, scheduling, and resource utilization, escalating concerns promptly and contributing to solutions that enhance both patient and staff experience.
