Growing together The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides direct and indirect patient care through clinical and telephone interactions, following established standards, policies, and clinical protocols. This role collaborates closely with physicians and the care team to ensure high-quality, coordinated, and patient-centered care delivery. Primary Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care and assist physicians and advanced practice providers with examinations and procedures Perform clinical duties within scope of practice in compliance with Optum NJ and Riverside Medical Group policies and protocols Demonstrate a proactive, compassionate approach to patient care, addressing patient and family needs Room and escort patients efficiently to support patient flow and experience Perform authorized clinical procedures including vital signs, vision screening, and selected point-of-care testing Prepare electronic prescriptions for provider review per Optum policy Clean, inspect, and prepare clinical instruments and equipment according to guidelines Accurately label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory transport within the electronic medical record system Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely patient documentation You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: Current nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) 1+ years of clinical experience in a medical office, clinic, or hospital setting Preferred Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program Current CPR / BLS certification 1+ years of recent experience as a Medical Assistant Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
