About the Role
UF Health in Gainesville, Florida, is seeking a dedicated Cardiovascular Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our dynamic cardiovascular department. As an integral part of our interdisciplinary care team, you will support UF Health’s mission of delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in an academic medical center known for innovation, research, and education. In this role, you will perform a variety of diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures under the direction of cardiologists and in collaboration with nurses and other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include preparing patients for examinations and procedures, explaining tests and addressing questions to ensure comfort and understanding, properly positioning patients, and operating specialized cardiovascular equipment to obtain accurate, high-quality diagnostic data. You will assist with or perform procedures such as non-invasive vascular and cardiac imaging, stress testing, electrocardiographic monitoring, and, depending on assignment, may support cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures by monitoring hemodynamics, operating imaging systems, and maintaining a sterile field. The Cardiovascular Technologist will be responsible for setting up, calibrating, and safely operating imaging and monitoring equipment; recognizing and promptly reporting significant clinical changes; adhering to radiation safety and infection control standards; and ensuring accurate, timely documentation of procedures, findings, and patient information in the electronic medical record. You will actively participate in quality improvement activities, equipment checks, and performance of routine maintenance tasks, escalating issues as needed to ensure optimal functioning and patient safety. Because UF Health is a comprehensive academic health center, you will work in an environment that supports teaching and learning, including engagement with residents, fellows, students, and other learners. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical proficiency, critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced clinical setting while maintaining a calm, compassionate approach. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential, as you will collaborate closely with cardiologists, nurses, and other allied health professionals to coordinate care and support safe, efficient procedures. UF Health fosters a collaborative and inclusive culture, emphasizing diversity, respect, and continuous professional growth. As a Cardiovascular Technologist here, you will have opportunities to expand your skills through exposure to complex cardiovascular cases, participation in continuing education, and engagement with innovative practices and research-driven care. In return for your commitment to excellence, UF Health offers competitive compensation, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance options, retirement benefits, and access to resources that support your ongoing development. This position is primarily on-site in procedural and diagnostic areas where direct patient care is delivered and may require variable shifts, on-call assignments, and occasional weekend or holiday coverage to meet patient and departmental needs. Candidates should bring a solid foundation in cardiovascular technology, a passion for patient-centered service, and a desire to contribute to groundbreaking care in a leading academic health system.
