About the Role

UF Health is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Cardiovascular Technologist to join our Cardiac Cath Lab team in Gainesville. This full-time position follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., supporting a high-acuity, fast-paced environment dedicated to delivering exceptional cardiovascular care. As a Cardiovascular Technologist in the cardiac catheterization lab, you will assist physicians with diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, including coronary angiography, percutaneous coronary interventions, and related vascular studies. You will prepare procedure rooms, ensure all equipment and supplies are available and functioning, and maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and infection prevention standards. During procedures, you will operate specialized cath lab imaging and monitoring equipment, accurately record and interpret hemodynamic data and ECG tracings, and support the team in recognizing and responding to arrhythmias and hemodynamic changes. You will help position and prepare patients, explain procedures, and provide compassionate, patient-centered care throughout pre-, intra-, and post-procedural phases. The role includes monitoring patients for signs of distress or complications, assisting with vascular access management and sheath removal as appropriate to scope of practice, and collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes. You will be responsible for thorough and timely documentation in the electronic medical record, maintaining radiation safety practices consistent with ALARA principles, and participating in quality assurance, process improvement, and equipment troubleshooting. In this role, you will contribute to on-time case starts, efficient room turnover, and effective inventory and supply management within the cath lab. You may participate in training students, new team members, and residents on cath lab workflows, equipment use, and safety protocols, while continuously enhancing your own skills through ongoing education and exposure to complex cardiovascular cases. Candidates should bring a strong technical foundation in cardiovascular imaging or invasive cardiology, excellent communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to perform calmly and accurately in time-sensitive, high-stress situations such as acute coronary syndromes and other cardiac emergencies.
