Description

  • Report to Complex Purchasing Manager, assisting with daily operations.
  • Selects, purchases and manages products and materials.
  • Responsible for negotiating contracts with vendors and maintaining optimal inventory levels.
  • Research market trends to identify new products and analyze sales data to ensure profitability.
  • Develop vendor relationships, negotiating ricing, contract terms and delivery scheudles.
  • Place orders for goods and services, track shipmets and resolve shipping and billing issues.
  • Monitor stock levels, analyze trends and forecast demand to avoid shortages or overstocking.
  • analyze competitors, attend trade shows and evaluate products to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Manage budges, review costs and ensure maximum return on investment.
  • All other relevant duties as required.


Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, with Bachelor degree preferred. Education may be considered in place of relevant work experience.
  • 2+ year(s) purchasing experience required, with poultry or meat category market experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient technology, computer, mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Strong ability to secure the best prices and favorable terms.
  • Proficient in analyzing sales reports and market trends.


Physical Requirements

  • Typical office environment within a manufacturing plant utilizing computers, telephones and other office equipment.
  • Frequently sit for long periods.
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
  • May be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production lines.
  • May be exposed to damp, wet, and cold environments.
