Description
- Report to Complex Purchasing Manager, assisting with daily operations.
- Selects, purchases and manages products and materials.
- Responsible for negotiating contracts with vendors and maintaining optimal inventory levels.
- Research market trends to identify new products and analyze sales data to ensure profitability.
- Develop vendor relationships, negotiating ricing, contract terms and delivery scheudles.
- Place orders for goods and services, track shipmets and resolve shipping and billing issues.
- Monitor stock levels, analyze trends and forecast demand to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- analyze competitors, attend trade shows and evaluate products to maintain a competitive edge.
- Manage budges, review costs and ensure maximum return on investment.
- All other relevant duties as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, with Bachelor degree preferred. Education may be considered in place of relevant work experience.
- 2+ year(s) purchasing experience required, with poultry or meat category market experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient technology, computer, mathematical and analytical skills.
- Strong ability to secure the best prices and favorable terms.
- Proficient in analyzing sales reports and market trends.
Physical Requirements
- Typical office environment within a manufacturing plant utilizing computers, telephones and other office equipment.
- Frequently sit for long periods.
- Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
- May be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production lines.
- May be exposed to damp, wet, and cold environments.
