Are you a seasoned professional in the construction industry with a knack for problem solving and time management? We are seeking a Permanent Assistant Superintendent to join our dynamic team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to apply your skills and experience in a challenging and rewarding environment where you can make a significant impact. You will be working closely with the Superintendent, playing a key role in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects from start to finish. This position requires 5+ years of experience in the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Superintendent, you will be responsible for:
1. Assisting the Superintendent in managing all functions of the job site as it relates to home construction, including but not limited to scheduling and supervising job site subcontractors, homeowner walk-throughs, inspections, subcontractor relations, and material procurement.
2. Ensuring that each project is delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with plans and specifications.
3. Coordinating and supervising all construction activities, including direct work and subcontractor work.
4. Maintaining a safe work site by implementing good housekeeping regulations and safety requirements, enforcing safe work habits, observing OSHA requirements and any state-level agencies’ regulations.
5. Monitoring the installation and start-up of mechanical systems, and coordinating inspections for these systems.
6. Assisting in problem solving on the job site, providing input and proposing solutions to problems that arise in the field.
7. Maintaining daily log of activities on the job site, ensuring that all significant activities, decisions, and agreements are documented.
8. Participating in the project handover process, ensuring that all relevant information and documentation are handed over to the client at the end of the project.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
2. Proven ability to solve complex problems and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
3. Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
4. Strong knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, OSHA guidelines, and building codes.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals including team members, clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
6. Proficiency in using construction management software and standard office software such as MS Office.
7. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
8. A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
